The required license category always depends on the permissible total weight of the vehicle and the food trailer. In general, you can tow the food trailer with a Category B license. The maximum permissible total weight of 3500 kg must not be exceeded for Category B. The trailer (220, 280, 380 single-axle) has a maximum permissible total weight of 1300 kg. Thus, the towing vehicle must not exceed a maximum permissible total weight of 2200 kg. If it is higher, you must have a Category BE license.

In Switzerland, the maximum speed limit is 100 km/h.

You must be able to see the center of your lane 100 meters behind you. If this is not possible, you must use mirror extensions. We recommend installing mirror extensions to avoid unnecessary checks and discussions.

The trailer is generally covered by the liability insurance of the towing vehicle. Additionally, you can insure the food trailer with comprehensive coverage against vandalism, accidents, fire, etc. We recommend this to all customers.

Yes, the food trailer is sold with a motor vehicle inspection (MFK). This inspection is valid for the next 5 years.

Once the trailer is completed and we have performed the motor vehicle inspection (MFK), you can view your food trailer. After paying the final installment, you will receive the vehicle papers from us so you can register the trailer at your local traffic office. Then you can pick up the food trailer with the registration plates.

All food trailers are equipped with electrical circuits. Depending on the configuration, the trailer has multiple circuits. Example: three circuits of 230 V, 16 A, at 3680 W per circuit. The total power is 11 kW. On request, 16/32 Ampère at 400 V is also possible.

Food trailers come with T23 sockets (max. power 3680 W). The number of sockets varies depending on the number of circuits.

Yes, food trailers can be equipped with gas appliances. A gas box mounted on the drawbar is required. Additionally, the trailer will have a complete gas installation. We also handle the legally required gas inspection for you.
